Founded in 1923 by L.W. “Buck” Ramsey, The L.W. Ramsey Advertising Agency took root after the company was asked to handle a promotional program for the American Nurseryman’s Association. As a result the agency provided service to a wide variety of national, regional and local accounts such as Rexall Drugs, Pella Window, National Oats, Fitch Shampoo, Amana Refrigeration, Hi-C, and Modern Woodmen of America. The staff grew to over 70 at one time with representatives on both coasts.The agency continues to serve regional and national accounts as well as numerous consumer businesses through its how-to publications division.
David A. Pautsch has served as the President and CEO of The Ramsey Advertising Agency since 1990. Beginning with the agency in 1980 as Media Director, Mr. Pautsch also worked in market research and strategic planning with his own marketing consulting firm in Cedar Rapids before buying the Ramsey agency in 1990. He has worked with national and regional organizations such as John Deere, Teleconnect, the Amana Society, Rockwell, Universal Gym and the University of Iowa.
